welcome to educating animals

Educating Animals exists to promote ‘force free’ training methods, which work with the animal’s natural behaviours. The techniques used encourage the animal to make choices and allows them to learn at their own pace. This results in long term behaviour change minimising levels of stress and anxiety for both animals and their carers.

About Us

Educating Animals is the culmination of over 14 years teaching experience coupled with a lifelong passion for animals.

Jo is a qualified lecturer at Sparsholt College in Hampshire, specialising in Animal Behaviour and Training, who has worked professionally with animals for over 20 years.

Jo regularly updates her technical and theoretical knowledge by attending seminars, workshops and conferences run by internationally renowned trainers, such as Chirag Patel and Ken Ramirez.

Jo has recently been appointed as Education Advisor for the BIAZA (British and Irish Association of Zoo and Aquariums) Animal Behaviour and Training Working Group.

WHAT WE DO

We are all about positive, ‘force free’ training methods that will precipitate lasting behaviour change enhancing the relationship between the animal and its carer.

Jo’s experience covers a wide range of animal species from domestics such as dogs, cats, rabbits and horses through to reptiles and amphibians, as well as birds and skunks – and pretty much everything in between!

So if you and your animal have any training requirements, no matter how large or small, Educating Animals can create a bespoke training programme to suit your needs. Feel free to call Jo on 07966 268489 or email info@educatinganimals.co.uk – we’d love to help.
